Shannon Ritchie
Shannon is a policy wonk and advocate who builds communications capacity and strategies for groups advancing racial, social, and economic justice. Her work applies an intersectional racial equity lens to communications and helps groups center directly impacted people’s voices as leading experts in public discourse. In 2017, she founded Nectar Strategies, a hands-on strategic communications firm that provides insight, strategy, and engagement support to nonprofits, funders, and movements. Prior roles include: Director of Digital and Innovation with AJ Fletcher Foundation, Co-Founder of The Vote Against Project (referendum campaign to advance marriage equality) and positions at City Year and Harvard Law School. Shannon received a master’s from the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University and served as student body president at Wake Forest University. When she takes a break from the laptop, you’ll find her savoring the outdoors across NC and growing flowers and food in her yard. She also enjoys reading and embroidering things that remind her of the aforementioned.
