Depolarization & Bridge Building: How to Communicate in a Polarized Society

Political polarization has been a feature of the American experiment since Adams v Jefferson during the election of 1800. In 2024, polarization has once again reached a fever pitch with partisans believing fellow citizens with differing views are “the enemy”.

In our August Network webinar we’ll explore practical tactics for bridging divides and how foundation and nonprofit communicators can reduce perception gaps.

This webinar will equip you with  skills to become a more trusted messenger and provide you with useful case studies illustrating how to understand the drivers of polarization.

By identifying and lifting up shared values and aspirations, nonprofit and philanthropy communications professionals will learn how to foster greater support and unity across the broader community.

In this Network webinar, we will cover:

  • What makes this moment in history unique, and how to navigate polarization in an election season.

  • How you can address political polarization through your foundation or nonprofit organizations’ communications.

  • Key communications tactics and strategies for gaining support from new, and/or reluctant audiences.

  • New research on Americans' levels of trust in news and who they trust as a messenger on bridging divides.
